Brevard & Transylvania County · Service area

Cedar log and SIP packages for Brevard and waterfall country.

Transylvania County is known as the Land of Waterfalls, with Pisgah National Forest and DuPont State Recreational Forest close by. Lots are often heavily wooded, with streams, shade and a lot of rain.

Wooded, wet sites

Shade, rainfall and nearby streams make drainage and moisture control important. Ask your builder to plan grading, gutters and a durable exterior detail. Northern white cedar is a good fit for the setting when walls are detailed to shed water.

Forest-edge living

Many buyers here want a cabin or home that sits quietly in the trees, with porches and big windows toward the woods. Smaller footprints can also reduce the clearing a lot needs.

Common questions

Do you build the house?
No. Big Twig supplies the material package and coordinates delivery. An independent local builder you choose handles construction, permits and site work.
Do cedar log homes suit a rainy area?
Northern white cedar has natural resistance to decay, but it still needs good detailing: wide eaves, a raised first course and a finish plan. Your builder should design drainage for the site.
